Russkoe Radio is a Russian radio station that broadcasts in some countries of the CIS and far abroad as an international radio station. It differs from other stations by broadcasting songs only in Russian. It is part of the Russian Media Group and is its main project.
In Moscow, the broadcasting of Russian Radio began on August 2, 1995. In the summer of 1995, it was carried out in a test mode (from 08:00 to 22:00 on the air only music without jingles, fading between songs from 5 to 20 seconds). Since 1996, advertising has appeared on the air of Russian Radio. The ending of each ad block was accompanied by jokes by Nikolai Fomenko (until 2009), Vadim Galygin (2009-2012) and Dmitry Nagiyev (since December 20, 2012).
In 1996, Russian Radio established the Golden Gramophone folk music award, which takes place at the end of each year in the State Kremlin Palace (from 1996 to 2014 and since 2017) and in the Olimpiysky Sports Complex (from 2015 to 2016). ) in Moscow; a similar ceremony takes place at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg and at the Minsk Arena in Minsk. In 2006, a television analogue of Russian Radio appeared - the RU.TV channel.
The first program director of the radio station was Stepan Stroev, who worked until 2002. In 2002, Stepan Stroev switched to Radio Troika, which broadcast on the adjacent frequency of 105.2 MHz, and Andrey Chizhov was appointed program director instead. From 2007 to 2015 Roman Emelyanov was the program director.
In 1996, the Russian Radio hit parade appeared - the Russkaya Gorka program, hosted by Gleb Deev. The 12 best songs of the past week sounded on the air. The program aired on Saturdays at 21:00. From February 20, 1999, the number of songs in the hit parade increased by 8, and the program began to last 2 hours. The name of the program has also changed - now it has become known as the Golden Gramophone. The program aired on Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:00. The first episodes of the program were hosted by Gleb Deev. Since 2000, the program has been hosted by Boris Korablev. At the same time, on Fridays at 19:00, a parody of a program called "The Golden Toilet", hosted by Andrei Chizhov, began to appear. After the departure of Boris Korablev in 2001, he became the host of the Golden Gramophone program. Since 2002, Alexander Karlov has become the host of the Golden Gramophone.
