The President of the Philippines (Spanish: Pangulo ng Republika ng Pilipinas) is the head of state and head of government of the Philippines. Any citizen of the Philippines who is at least 40 years of age and has lived in the Republic for at least 10 years may be elected to this position. Elected by direct popular vote for one six-year term, along with the Vice President. The President may terminate the exercise of his powers in the event of his death, permanent incapacity, removal from power or voluntary resignation. The incumbent President is not entitled to hold any office other than the one to which he was elected.
