Khrapov, Andrey Ivanovich
Andrey Ivanovich Khrapov (born in 1970, Saratov, RSFSR, USSR) - Russian statesman, police lieutenant general (2017). Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (since July 16, 2021), in 2016-2021 - Head of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Was born in 1970 in Saratov. Father - Lieutenant General of Police Ivan Khrapov, served as head of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He graduated from high school, after which he worked as a turner at a factory. In 1988-1990 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR.
After completing his military service, Khrapov studied at the Moscow Higher Police School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was later transformed into the Moscow Law Institute of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He graduated from his studies in 1994, after which he served as an operative of the criminal investigation department of the Begovoy department of internal affairs in Moscow.
In 1995-2003, he held various positions in the structure of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Moscow, rose from the position of an operative to the position of deputy head of the 2nd department of the capital's Criminal Investigation Department, engaged in solving murders.
From 2003 to 2007, Khrapov held the position of head of the 1st department of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow - the employees of this unit carried out the disclosure of contract killings. In 2007-2013, he was the deputy head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow and oversaw the disclosure of grave crimes against the individual. As noted by TASS, Khrapov was investigating the attack on Oleg Kashin: on November 6, 2010, a journalist was beaten near his house.
On April 5, 2013, Khrapov was appointed deputy head of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. As deputy head of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Khrapov oversaw the fight against organized crime.
On April 5, 2016, the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation was abolished by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The functions and powers of the department were transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, in the structure of which the Main Directorate for the Control of Defense was formed.
