The Diocese of Nis is the Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The competent archbishop is Bishop Arsenija (Glavčić), and the seat of the diocese is in Niš.

History

The seat of the diocese is in Nis, and it includes the regions of Pirot, Krusevac, Toplica and Leskovac. The diocese with its headquarters in Nis is historically one of the most important in Christianity. During the pre-Slavic history, the Diocese of Nis existed until the settlement of the Slavs. Until then, it was one of the Roman or Byzantine church centers. Three centuries later, it is being renewed in the Slavic form.
