The Parliament of Albania (Alb. Kuvendi and Shqipërisë or shorter Kuvendi or Parliaments), formerly the People's Parliament (Alb. Kuvendi Popullor) is the unicameral parliament of the Republic of Albania. It has 140 members, whose mandate lasts four years. The electoral system is based on proportional representation of a closed list. There are 12 constituencies corresponding to 12 administrative areas of Ablanija. In each constituency, the party must pass the threshold of three percent of the vote; pre-election coalitions must pass the threshold of five percent of votes. All laws passed by the parliament are published in the Official Gazette of Albania (Alb. Fletorja Zyrtara).
