The President of Bolivia (sp. Presidente de Bolivia), officially the President of the Multinational State of Bolivia (sp. Presidente del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia) is the head of state and head of government of Bolivia and the Captain General of the Armed Forces of Bolivia. According to the Bolivian constitution, the president is elected by the largest number of votes on a five-year term with a limit of two terms. If no candidate wins a majority (defined as more than 50%, or alternatively at least 40% and at least 10% more than the second-placed candidate), the top two candidates advance to a runoff.
