Hidden seeds or flowering plants (lat. Magnoliophyta, Angiospermae) are the largest group of green terrestrial plants and look very diverse, but they are connected by the fact that their seeds are inside the fruit. So far, over 290,000 species of flowering plants are known, which include: flowers, grasses, trees, vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants. The ancestors of flowering plants developed in the Triassic era 245 million years ago. The first known flowering plants date back 160 million years. Over 80% of all green plants have flowers, which produce seeds and so a new plant develops. Annual flowering plants bloom at the end of their lives, while most perennial flowering plants bloom every year. Grasses are the most common flowering plants.

General characteristics of hidden seeds

The number of hidden seed species is about 250,000. Sizes range from about 1mm (floating plant Wolffia) to over 80m (e.g. some members of the genus Eucaliptus). Hidden seeds can live in the harshest conditions of the deserts and rims of the Arctic tundra, but they have the greatest diversity in the area of tropical (equatorial) rainforests. Most lead independent lives and feed on the process of photosynthesis, but there are also parasitic and saprophytic forms. The importance of hidden seeds for terrestrial ecosystems is enormous, because they are the ones that in most cases make the largest biomass in the ecosystem and their appearance and abundance determine the appearance and structure of ecosystems. The significance for man is also great, because almost all plants that man grows for his own and the nutrition of domestic animals belong to hidden seeds. Flowering plants may have one or two germ leaves, cotyledons. The flower opens from the bud. The flower bud is enclosed in a cup that looks like a solid green ball. It is composed of green calyx leaves. The color diversity of flowering plants is limitless. The colored part of the flower consists of petals that make up the rosary. If there are calyx and crown petals of the same color in the flower, they are called perigon. Depending on the time of year, the buds open and reveal flowers. Discovered flowers enable the process of reproduction. When the warm bud opens, the calyx leaves bend back, spread, open and open the crown petals that create a flower crown. The flower opens and reveals brightly colored pollen sacs. Flowers can last from
