Stefan (worldly: Stojan Veljanovski; Dobruševo, May 1, 1955) is the first archbishop of the Macedonian-Ohrid Serbian Orthodox Church. His honorary and liturgical title reads: Metropolitan of Skopje and Archbishop of Macedonia-Ohrid. In the period 1999-2022. was the head of the self-proclaimed, schismatic and canonically unrecognized "Macedonian Orthodox Church". In May 2022, the MPC—OA under his leadership returns to the jurisdiction of the SPC, and the Ecumenical Patriarchate recognizes his hierarchy. He was educated in Belgrade and speaks fluent Macedonian, Serbian and Greek.

He was born on May 1, 1955 in Dobruševo, near Bitola, in the People's Republic of Macedonia (SFRJ). In 1969, he enrolled at the Orthodox seminary "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje, which he completed in 1974. That year, he enrolled at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University of Belgrade, where he graduated five years later. When he returned, he joined the schismatic and canonically unrecognized "Macedonian Orthodox Church" and was appointed as a teacher at the Orthodox seminary "St. Kliment of Ohrid". In 1980, he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Catholic Institute "Saint Nicholas" in Bari, Italy, where he specialized in patriarchal and Byzantine studies. Two years later he graduated. He also became a permanent professor at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje. On July 3, 1986. became a monk in the "Sveti Naum" monastery, and nine days later he was appointed as the metropolitan of Strumica, and then as the head of the diocese of Bregalnica. In the meantime, he became dean of PBF in Skopje, spokesman of the Synod of Bishops, editor of the church magazine Crkoven Život, and chief secretary of the Macedonian-Ohrid archbishopric. In October 1999, he became the head of the schismatic and canonically unrecognized "Macedonian Orthodox Church".

Reconciliation and restitution under SPC

In May 2022, the schismatic MPC returns under the auspices of the Serbian Orthodox Church as the "Macedonian Orthodox Church — Ohrid Archbishopric".
