TV show

A television series (abbreviated: TV series) is a set of episodes (shows) of a television program that are broadcast at regular intervals. They are often shown once a week at a set time; however, they may appear less frequently or more frequently. Episodes are grouped into series (seasons). There is a long break between the beginning of each series, which is usually one year. Drama television series shown in a small - certain - number of episodes that are shown every day are called mini-series. The most famous format of television series are soap operas, which began their showing in 1930 on American radio.
