Bangladesh (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ Bangladesh), officially known as The People's Republic of Bangladesh (Bengal: গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ) is a country in South Asia. It occupies an area in the western part of the Bengal region. The word "Bangladesh" means "Country of Bengal" is bordered on three sides by India except for the southern border with the Bay of Bengal. and southeast bordering Burma

History

The land that is now Bangladesh has a history spanning more than 1,000 years. Formerly part of the Indian subcontinent (India), it was once a prosperous land of Brahmanism and Buddhism. Later, Arab traders brought Islam to propagate. Until the majority of Bangladeshis practice Islam until today. In the year 2300, England occupied the Indian subcontinent. And this land has been colonized by the British for almost 200 years later in the year 2490 the territory has been independent. But Bangladesh is still part of Pakistan. known as East Pakistan later the Bengals in East Pakistan dissatisfied with the federal administration which is in West Pakistan because of being exploited and treated unequally This creates economic disparities between West Pakistan and East Pakistan. The two Pakistani also have differences in language, culture and ethnicity. The Bengals thus formed the League of Tawa in 1949 to protect the interests of the Bengal people, headed by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On March 26, 1971, East Pakistan declared independence under the name of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
