April 28 – Krue Se Mosque Incident: Early in the morning, more than 200 insurgents attempted to rob guns and attack officers at multiple locations in Yala province. Pattani Province and Songkhla Province The mob escaped into the Krue Se Mosque. The officers held the siege until around 2:00 p.m. General Panlop Pinmanee ordered a heavy bombardment. A total of 108 people were killed in the incident, while five officers were killed.
