Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (Swedish: Nobelpriset i fysiologi eller medicin; UK: Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine) organized by the Nobel Foundation. Awards are given every year to outstanding discoveries in the life sciences and medicine fields. The Nobel Prize is one of five, initiated in 1895 by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel. inventor of dynamite in his will Nobel had a personal interest in experimental physiology and wanted a reward for the process throughout the scientific discoveries from the laboratory. The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine will be selected by the Nobel Assembly of the Carolinska Institute. and presented to the recipient at an annual ceremony on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's death. together with higher diplomas and certificates for financial awards. The obverse of the coin depicts the lateral face of Alfred Nobel, as well as medals awarded in physics, chemistry, and literature. But the reverse side of this coin is unique. As of 2021, a total of 112 Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine have been awarded, with 224 recipients, 212 for men and 12 for women.
