Anthony Norman Albanese (English: Anthony Norman Albanese, pronounced: /ˈælbəniːz/ or /ˌælbəˈniːzi/; Born March 2, 1963, commonly known as Albo, is an Australian politician. The 31st and current Prime Minister of Australia He was the first Australian Prime Minister of Italian descent. He has been the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) since 2019 and has been a member of Parliament from Grendler since 1996. Albanese was the 15th Australian Deputy Prime Minister under Rudd's government for a second term in that year. 2013 and was a minister in the Rudd government and the Gillard government from 2007 to 2013. In the 2022 elections, Albanese led the Labor party to a slash-point re-election against Scott Morrison's Liberal-National Front, making Albanese the first Australian Prime Minister of Italian descent. He was sworn into office on May 23, 2022.
