Christopher Latham Sholes (English Christopher Latham Sholes, born February 14, 1819, Mooresburg, Montour, USA - February 17, 1890, USA) is an American inventor who invented the world's first practical typewriter and his QWERTY keyboard is still used. In addition, he was engaged in politics and publishing.
