March 9 - An Italian offensive is unsuccessful against the Greeks on the Albanian front. March 12 - The war between the USSR and Finland ends. Karelia is part of the USSR. November 15 - German aircraft bomb the city of Coventry in the UK. The bombing lasted 10 hours and involved more than 500 aircraft.
