January

On January 8, a gaur bull named Noah was born, the first animal of an endangered species to be successfully cloned. On July 2, the world's first autonomous artificial heart was implanted in the body of a patient, namely Robert Tools. On July 3, near Irkutsk, a Tu-154M passenger plane of the Vladivostok Avia airline, which was flying Yekaterinburg-Irkutsk-Vladivostok, crashed during landing. All 145 people on board died.
