Rockstar San Diego, Inc. (formerly Angel Studios, Inc.) is an American video game development company and subsidiary of Rockstar Games located in Carlsbad, California. Founded by Colombian artist and entrepreneur Diego Angel in 1984. Since then, the team has developed over twenty projects, including the Smuggler's Run, Midtown Madness, and Midnight Club video games. In addition, the team independently developed the first part of Red Dead Redemption. Also, the studio has repeatedly participated in the creation of video games as part of Rockstar Studios, in particular, in the development of Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2. It helped the Rockstar North studio in the development of Grand Theft Auto V.
